Diagnosing the real point of failure
Water is sneaky. The stain on your ceiling is often a metre or more from where water actually enters, because it tracks along battens and rafters before it drips. So before we repair anything we trace the entry point properly, checking flashings, valleys, penetrations, capping and the surrounding tiles or sheets.
Fixing only the visible symptom is why so many roofs leak again a fortnight later. We would rather spend the extra ten minutes finding the true source than have you call us back in the next storm.
Repairs matched to your roof type
A tiled roof and a Colorbond roof fail differently and need different repairs. On tile we replace cracked or slipped tiles, re-bed and re-point where mortar has crumbled, and reseal valleys. On metal we address lifted screws, split laps, failed silicone at penetrations, and corroded sections that need a new sheet.
We carry a stock of common tile profiles and metal sheeting so that many repairs are completed on the first visit rather than waiting days for a special order.
When a repair is not enough
Sometimes an honest assessment is that the repair is a band-aid on a roof at the end of its life. If your tiles are delaminating across the whole roof, or a metal roof is rusting through in multiple bays, we will say so and give you the option of a proper replacement rather than pouring money into repeated repairs.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you do a permanent repair on the same day you make it safe?
Often yes, if the weather cooperates and we carry your roof profile in stock. Some repairs need dry conditions for pointing and sealants to cure properly, so occasionally we make safe first and return to complete the permanent work once it is dry.
How do you find a leak when the ceiling stain is nowhere near the roof problem?
Water travels along battens and rafters before it drips, so we work backwards from the stain, inspecting the roof cavity and the roof surface above and uphill of it. We check flashings, valleys and penetrations, which are the usual culprits, rather than assuming the leak is directly overhead.
Will one cracked tile really cause a leak?
It can, and it rarely stays just one. A single cracked or slipped tile exposes the underlay and lets wind-driven rain in, and foot traffic or the next storm often cracks the tiles around it. Catching it early keeps a small repair from becoming a large one.
Should I wait for my regular roofer or call you now?
