Roof Replacements
New Roof Installation for Sydney Builds and Extensions
A brand-new roof done to plan, to standard, and to last from day one.

New roof installation covers roofs going onto new structures rather than replacing an existing one: a new build, an extension, a granny flat, a carport or a shed. It is a different job from a replacement because there is no old roof to strip and match, but the roof still has to be designed and built right, to the architect's or builder's plans, at the correct pitch, and to the Australian Standards for wind, water and fixing. Getting it right from bare frame is where a good roofer earns their keep.
Building the roof from the frame up
On a new install we start from the completed frame: setting out and fixing battens at the correct spacing for the chosen roofing, laying sarking, then installing tiles or sheeting to the specified profile and pitch. Because there is no existing roof dictating layout, we can optimise sheet runs, flashings and gutter falls from scratch, which usually gives a cleaner, better-performing result than any retrofit.
Meeting plans, pitch and Australian Standards
New work has to satisfy the plans and the relevant Australian Standards for roof installation, fixing and wind loading. Minimum pitch matters: sheeting has a minimum pitch below which it will not shed water reliably, and tiles have their own limits. We check the specified roofing suits the designed pitch and flag any conflict early, rather than installing something that will pond or leak because the pitch is too shallow.
Coordinating with the builder and other trades
A new roof rarely happens in isolation. We coordinate with the builder around lock-up stage, and with plumbers, solar installers and gutter crews so penetrations, flues and mounts are planned rather than cut in afterwards. Getting our timing right keeps the build moving and means the roof is watertight when it needs to be, protecting the trades working underneath.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you install roofs on new builds and extensions?
Yes. We install roofs on new homes, extensions, granny flats, carports and sheds. We work to the plans and specifications provided and coordinate with your builder around lock-up so the structure is weathertight when the build needs it to be.
What is the minimum pitch for a metal roof?
It depends on the profile: corrugated needs more pitch than most trapezoidal profiles, which can go quite low. Below the profile's minimum, water will not shed reliably. We check the specified roofing suits the designed pitch and flag any conflict before installing.
Can you install a roof to match my house on a new extension?
Yes. On an extension we match the profile, colour and pitch to the existing roof as closely as the current range allows, and we seal the junction between new and old carefully so it stays watertight. Matching aged tiles exactly can be a challenge, and we will be upfront about it.
Do you work directly with my builder?
We do. We can work as a subcontractor to your builder or deal with you directly, coordinating timing around lock-up and with other trades like plumbers and solar installers. Planning penetrations and mounts in advance avoids messy cut-ins later.
